What does it mean to curate Eastern European cinema today? This conversation will explore the current state of film production in the region, its strengths and challenges, and the ways in which Eastern European films find their place within the international festival landscape. Drawing on his experience as Programme Director of Cottbus Film Festival, Bernd Buder will reflect on his curatorial practices, regional perspectives, and the role festivals play in shaping the visibility and circulation of films from Eastern Europe.
